Taxes

When you selected the Region, the default Taxes used in this region have been created automatically.

You can create a new Tax with the Add New Currency button, or edit the current Tax.

Here you can enter the data for the new tax:

  • Name: the name of the tax

  • Type: there are different types of taxes
    • Normal: This is the standard type. Taxes will be calculated as a percentage of the item sale.
    • Amount per Quantity: This is a special tax that will be applied depending the Unit of Measure defined on the item and the quantity sold. This can be used for liquor taxes.
    • Fix Amount: This tax will charge a fixed amount when selling the item. This can be used for touristic taxes.
    • Group: When one item needs more than one tax to be applied, you can create each tax separately and join them in a group of taxes. This can be used for items that must charge state taxes, county taxes and city taxes.

In each group of taxes you can select up to 10 different taxes to be charged to a single item.

Here you have some tax samples. They are created 3 normal taxes (state, county and city taxes) and grouped into one Single tax.

You have an utility to exchange the tax fixed into items, customers or suppliers to another one. This is useful when there is a tax change. Select the original tax and push the Tax Change button.

Now select the new tax to be applied. This will change all fields containing the original tax to the new tax.
